Alte Nationalgalerie Berlininfocredits

This signage system was developed in co-operation with the “hg merz” office in the course of general renovation and redesign of the exhibition rooms. The typography makes its first impressive appearance in the entrance area: all the sponsors in the long history of the gallery appear in lavish gilding. Original stonemason lettering from the façade frieze was digitised for the typeface. A “modern” material was used for the new information elements as a contrast to the existing materials and decor. The exhibit labels are affixed on a sliding rail system.
